Our Church
The New Hope Missionary Baptist Church was organized in April of 1981 under the leadership of the late Rev. George Abram. We are seeing an infinite amount of possibilities opening up for our growth and evangelistic efforts. God has tremendously blessed us over the past years. We are on the cutting edge of being used by God to do extraordinary things in our community.
Worship Service
Our praise and worship service starts at 10:00 am and is a blend of traditional and contemporary music. This is followed by a dynamic and powerful preached word.
Children’s Church for ages 4 – 8 is held concurrently in The Hope Center. This is a time of discovering who God is through the teaching of lessons, and a time of fellowship by way of songs, crafts, games and snacks.
Sunday School
The purpose of the Sunday School is to build Christian leaders through quality Christian education and equip them to be used in God’s service. The goal of the Sunday School Ministry is to provide an opportunity for individuals to hear God’s word, to study God’s word and learn how to apply it to daily life and also to hear God’s plan of Salvation through Jesus Christ.
Sunday school begins at 8:30 am. Classes are offered for adults, young adults, youth and children.
Prayer Meeting
This is a time to share in giving thanks for God’s blessings, pray for the church and leaders, a personal need, or pray through a concern for others. Prayer meeting time is 6:30 pm on Wednesdays, prior to Bible Study.
Bible Study
This is a time of study for believers to journey through the Bible to increase their knowledge of the Word of God and grow in spirit and heart.
Adult Bible Study is on Tuesday at Noon and Wednesday night at 7:00 pm. Youth activities are held concurrently in The Hope Center.
Church Ministries:
Women of Hope – A woman’s ministry that is opened to all women in the church. This ministry is dedicated to the studying of God’s word, prayer, outreach, encouragement and fellowship
Men of Hope – This is a ministry that offers opportunities for men to study God’s word and develop an intimate relationship with God through fellowship, accountability and prayer.
L.I.F.E. is a ministry designed to target young adults (ages 18 – 35) committed to Live In Faith Everyday.
Greeters – Serve as ambassadors of New Hope by welcoming guests and members as they enter to worship.
Ushers – Serve as doorkeepers and ensuring the needs of members and guest are met during the worship service
Audio – This ministry ensures the audio equipment is operational in the sanctuary and Hope Center as needed and is responsible for recording the Sunday worship service, choir concerts, etc.
Cultural Arts – This is comprised of the Dance and Drama Ministry. Spiritual worship is expressed through the art of dance and insightful skits of practical life applications through stage are performed
Choir – The choir ministry lead people to worship through song during service. There are several choir: Mass, New Generation, Women’s, Men’s, and Youth & Children’s Choirs.
Blessing-In-A-Bowl – This is an out-reach ministry that provides a
hot meal once a month to area residents that are under-served or in need.
